Ten to sixteen months before your
wedding:
* Determine type of wedding (formal
or informal) and choose a date.
* Visit the clergy and review ceremony/church
requirements.
* Determine size of the guest list.
* Determine your budget and division
of expenses.
* Find a reception location and
make reservations early.
* Select a wedding consultant.
* Select Wedding Gown.
* Select a florist.
* Reserve your photographer and
videographer.
Nine to six months before the wedding:
* Choose your attendants.
* Choose a color theme.
* Choose attendant's dresses.
* Book your caterer.
* Reserve your Dj or Band.
* Reserve your organist or soloist
for ceremony.
* Plan ceremony and reception music.
* Compile names and addresses for
guest list
* Make transportation/limousine
arrangements. (
Keep in mind that more limo time is required for the salon, dressing
at the house, while taking pre-wedding photos,
and during ceremony, recieving line and formal photographs after
the ceremony. Improper limo reservations can result in the limo
leaving for another event or you'll have to sacrifice church
photographs).
* Make an itinerary (draft) for your wedding day to help with
your planning.
Six months before wedding:
* Finalize arrangement for the church
and ceremony
* Order invitations and party favors.
* Shop for bridal party's tuxedos.
* Buy wedding rings. It is best if you make
payments only (lay-a-way) and place order 1-2 months before the
wedding. This will eliminate any problems with having to pay
extra for resizing if rings don't fit before the wedding.
*Plan honeymoon; visit travel agencies,
make reservations.
* Verify that deposits are made
and all agreements are signed.
* Put together ideas for bridal
registry.
* Plan wedding decorations and center
pieces.
*Have your engagment portraits taken.
( Need 1-5x7
size print for most news papers)
* Order large print for signature
board. (Display
at reception, by cake or enterance)
Five months before the wedding:
* Make plans & reservations
for wedding rehearsal & dinner.
* Choose gifts for attendants, parents,
helpers.
* Order the wedding cake.
* Buy cake knife, toasting glasses,
guest book & garter.

Four months before the wedding:
* Set up appointment with hair dresser/salon.
Set your
appointment 3-4 hrs. before you start pre-wedding photographs.
this will eliminate rushing and stressing to get ready on time.
* Ask bridal party attendants to
make thier appoinments with hair dresser too.
*Prepare wedding announcement and
photo to send to newspapers.
* Reserve rooms for out-of-town
guests
Two months before the wedding:
* Address invitations/announcements.
( Invitations
should be sent 4-6 weeks prior to wedding; announcements after
wedding )
One month before
the wedding:
* Order programs for the ceremony.
* Finalize details of every aspect of your wedding
* Confirm honeymoon reservations
* Have final fittings for you and
your attendant's dresses
* Get marriage license
*Ask a friend or relative to take
charge of guest book at reception
Two weeks before
the wedding:
* Pick up wedding rings.
* Complete your trousseau.
* Contact guests who have not responded.
* Pick up your gown, attendants'
dresses & accessories.
One week before
the wedding:
* Make sure you have all wedding
attire, rings & marriage license.
* Confirm details with all service
providers, participants and inform.
them of any changes. (
Call and remind family and bridal party about rehearsal and dinner).
* Pack a box(es) with all your wedding
day stuff. (favors,
accessories, marriage license, candles, cake knifes, garter,
guest book etc......)
* Pack for honeymoon. Pack a camera too!
* Have rehearsal and dinner.
* Have nails done.
* Give final guest count to reception
facility or caterer.
On the Wedding day:
* Have hair & make-up done.
Finished 2-3 hours before ceremony.
Hopefully
your appoinment starts on time.
* Begin dressing two hours before
the photographs or ceremony is to begin
* Take marriage license and rings
to ceremony site.
* Have fun!
* If you drink, don't drink too
much alcohol, you have a honeymoon awaiting and surely you don't
want to be hung over!
